Guides provide valuable assistance for travelers, sportspeople and tourists in unfamiliar territory. Explorers who ventured into unfamiliar terrain typically employed guides as companions on their exploration expeditions.
To revive a machine that won’t power on, first ensure it is connected to an AC outlet and inspect its power cord for damage. Use a multimeter to test for continuity between coin switch metering points.
Reel alignment issues
Whenever the reels of your fruit machine stop rotating properly, there may be an indexing problem with its detector. This issue could be due to loose screws which can easily be fixed.
Unplug the coin door and use an analogue multimeter set to R x 1 scale with leads attached to common and N.O. switch terminals; if resistance readings near zero ohms indicate worn switch contacts internally.
Alternately, try loosening two screws on the front of the electronics chassis and moving your detector up or down until it reaches an optimal alignment position. Be sure to test all three reels so as to get an understanding of their individual indexing patterns; if more than 1/16″ movement from its indexed position leads to two- or one-digit readings in your display screen then that indicates serious misalignment of your detector.
Random number generator (RNG) glitches
Slot machine random number generators (RNGs) generate numbers which result in various symbol combinations on the reels, regardless of whether the machine is being played or not. They work reliably.
RNGs are built for maximum reliability; however, like anything, they can become vulnerable. A computer hacker could potentially exploit RNG software using similar techniques used against you – including your banking information, medical records and intimate conversations with Alexa and Siri.
As is often the case, RNG glitches result from errors in the code that creates the generator. One such error causes the generator to produce identical sequences of numbers each time. To address this problem, reseeding can be accomplished using the rng function, which returns a settings structure which contains two pieces of data: type of generator used as well as integer of when it was last reseeded.
Machines that refuse to power on
As with any machine that won’t turn on, the first step should be power. Verify that it is plugged in, then test its plug using a multimeter to ensure proper connection. If all these elements check out properly, adjusting its coin mechanism might help ensure coins are being accepted correctly by your machine.
If none of these steps work, a physical obstruction in the coin slot mechanism may be present. While this may be hard to spot and remove, it’s worth trying anyway. You should also double-check that all wiring hasn’t become loose; these connections can easily become pulled or broken during use. If none of this works out for you, professional services like West Coast Chief Repair may be able to help troubleshoot further before providing a replacement part if required.
Bill validator not accepting currency
If a machine displays “BILLREJECTED (X), this indicates that its bill validator has rejected one or more bills due to age, wrinkles, tears or damage. These bills may not be accepted by its validator.
Dirt and debris are another of the top causes for bill acceptor malfunction. Make sure your dollar bill slot is free of paperclips, candy wrappers or any other foreign objects before placing bills into it. Occasionally restarting may help if your machine has been off for extended periods of time.
To thoroughly cleanse both the dollar bill slot and head of a bill validator, a cleaning card that comes with most supplier kits is an effective tool. Simply open up the vault by lifting up on the green tab above the mouth of the bill validator before pressing both of its green buttons on either side. Press both green tabs to open up its head before checking for obstructions.
